Commissioner King and his team listened to agent concerns and worked with IIAG member agents to craft new guidance for Certificates of Insurance, which was released March 14, 2024 in Bulletin 24-EX-4.
The new Bulletin rescinds and replaces Bulletin 23-EX-9 released in June of 2023. The previous Bulletin and frequently asked questions led to some confusion for agents and our clients.
IIAG put together a task force of commercial lines agents to study the issue and worked with the Department of Insurance on a refined frequently asked questions on certificates of insurance that clearly articulates violations agents commonly encounter.
Bulletin 24-EX-4 is a strong resource for agents to utilize if they are being asked to violate the certificate law. IIAG offers or sincere thank you to Commissioner King and his staff for their hard work on this important issue. ![]()
